Description My work is the creation of small batch, handcrafted hard candy that blends traditional confectionery techniques with modern flavor innovation. Each piece is made entirely by hand using time honored methods passed down through generations, including a family recipe originally developed by my grandmother. The process emphasizes craftsmanship, precision, and sensory storytelling, transforming simple ingredients into edible works of art that evoke nostalgia and memory. Techniques & Process Every batch begins with cooking sugar, glucose, and water in open pans carefully monitored by temperature and visual cues rather than automation. Once the syrup reaches the correct stage, the flavorings and natural colorings are added. For select collections, premium spirits are carefully added as well. It is then hand poured into heat safe silicone molds of desired shape. Powdered sugar is then used to lightly coat candy to reduce stickiness. No automated forming or mass production machinery is used. Each batch is visually inspected, cooled, and finished by hand before being packaged. The finished candy is not only a consumable product, but a handcrafted expression of tradition, patience, and skill. This work is fully hand crafted from raw ingredients to finished piece, honoring classic confectionery artistry while presenting it in a contemporary, elevated form.
